Highlights include breaking a potential wrongful conviction story, which played a role in helping the Innocence Project secure physical evidence for DNA testing; and covering art/sport events such as SXSW, 24 Hours of Horseshoe Hell Climbing Competition and Wakarusa Music Festival.

Beats included Capitol, lottery, higher ed, environment, LGBTQ and entertainment. Highlights include coverage that held the mayor/city accountable during efforts to prevent a veterans treatment center from relocating to a gentrifying part of town and breaking the story of environmental damage caused by Arkansas’s frac sand mining industry. 

Reporting Fellow, The Express Tribune/Columbia University, Karachi, Pakistan, March 2011 - Sept. 2011. Reported and wrote for a national daily affiliate of International New York Times. Edited national and style pages. Led newsroom workshops and mentored young reporters.
